Learning to stand up for yourself!

This past week I recieved a text message from the X that just said that he was sick but, that he would keep me updated and let me know about coming to see the kids. Well surprise he did not so come Saturday morning when the kids were asking if they were going with him I was honest with them and said I did not know I told them that a few days ago he was sick and was suppose to let us know and that I had not heard from him? Of course, sweet innocent Little girl say's "I hope Daddy is feeling better" which I hugged her and told her I hope so too. Mason, on the other hand was irratated he was ticked off that Dad did not follow through and atleast tell them yes or no if he was coming? So Mason first thing Saturday morning took my phone and sent his dad a text message that said "Hi dad it is Mason are we seeing you today?" Mason checked the phone all day long and with each passing hour he got more irratated because his father never responded. It was very hard for me to watch talk about reliving the past! So I gave him lots of hugs and told him how sorry I was and how much I loved him. I thought that was the end of it until Monday at work I got an email from the X that said Mason late Saturday night had sent him a text calling him a LIAR and telling him that he was mad at him and sick of him LYING to his mom and to him! This was all news to me so I had to look at my phone at the sent text messages, and sure enough Mason stood up for himself and told his Dad off. I must admit I am very proud of him! Heck I'm 33 and I still have never had the nerve to tell mine off so good for Mason I know how hard that must have been.

Go Mason! It's so healthy for him to express himself. Unfortunately, Paul is clueless! Give Mason hugs for me. He's a great kid!
